GS E&C Research Institute – Young-in, Korea
Part of South Korea’s eight-largest conglomerate, GS Group, GS E&C was founded in 1969.
Its roots go back to the 1950s, when it was founded as part of LG Group – which is now well-known as one of the largest electronics companies in the world.
LG Group and GS Group split amicably in 2004. Since then, GS Group has developed diverse business interests across energy, retail, finance and – through GS E&C – engineering and construction.
GS E&C has grown to become one of the largest engineering and construction firms in Korea, delivering infrastructure, power & energy, water, oil, gas & processing, and architecture & leisure around the globe.
GS E&C has been incorporated into the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the twelfth consecutive year, ranking it 22nd among the top 250 global construction companies selected by Engineering News Record (ENR) of the United States.
