The Patuakhali-Gopalganj 400kv Transmission line project is a key infrastructure development in Bangladesh, designed to bolster the country's energy transmission capacity. Spanning 170 kilometres, this double-circuit transmission line connects the 1320 MW Payra coal-fired power plant in Patuakhali to the Gopalganj substation, playing a crucial role in delivering reliable electricity to central and southern Bangladesh. Led by GS E&C, the EPC contract involved overcoming signficant geographical challenges, including river crossings, to ensure seamless high-voltage electricity transmission. The project was jointly funded by the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi government. The project marked a vital step in strengthening Bangladesh's national grid, supporting growing energy demands and ensuring stable power distribution across the region.
